    Default Cactus Flower

I like wildflowers but alas December in Pennsylvania isn't exactly wildflower season. So I decided to try out my new Sigma 70mm f/2.8 Macro lens on my wife's flowering Christmas cactus. It bloomed in early December and has a few buds blooming now.

This isn't a "climb inside" 1:1 image (I have those too) but a full flower image taken with my Rebel XT and lens mentioned above. I had a flash and Sto-Fen diffuser on but did not use it for this particular image.

1.3 sec at f/22; ISO 200; 0 EV; No Flash. Image was cropped to 10x8 fixed aspect ratio and resized for POTN.

Hey Ed, very nice light illuminating the flower. I would clone some green into the brown area in the leaf at the lower left corner, and remove the little black dot in the bottom center of the frame. Great shot.

I like this perspective of a Christmas cactus alot; why haven't I thought of that??! LOL! Agree with Mike's suggestions.
