    Default Shoveler At Rest

    Greetings Once Again,
I didn't have much light here, but the early morning reflections on the water got my attention and I decided to try a few exposures. The bird was barely moving so I waited for her to get parallel, to keep as much as possible in-focus. It's dead center, but I liked the end result.
    Thanks for looking...tom

My feeling is the duck is too dark. So what happens is my eyes are pulled above the bird to the BG. Maybe try two things: quick mask the bird and pull up the detail by a curves adjustment and maybe crop some off the top. Oh, the BG is super!! Bob

Tonality looks fine from here. Love the look and colors and patterns in the water. Focusing and then pointing the lens well to our right would have resulted in a much stronger image.

I think the duck looks well exposed too. I agree pointing the lens to the right would have been beneficial to the composition. A lower angle, if at all possible at this location, may have been a good additional option. The water looks great :-)
