I created this image last Saturday night. Every December Canada's capital is illuminated with thousands of Christmas lights. A few of those can be found in front of the Historic Chateau Laurier Hotel.

Beautiful photo Stephen. Quite serene compared to the mess we had Wednesday morning...YIKES!! I love photographing our beautiful city at night...best spot is behind Museum of Civilization across the river - we should do it some evening!
Beautiful shot Stephen, have been to Ottawa, but never made it to the Parliament Buildings. Like the colours and the star effect. Was it cold? Ottawa is usually freezing cold, skating on the Rideau at minus 20!
Thanks Al, Gus, Julie, Dan and Jackie. This was really outside my comfort zone but it was certainly nice to get out there. There were a lot of photographers out that night but there was lots of opprtunity to be along to compose you own images.
Ddan yes we'll need to get out some night for sure.
Jackie it was fairly mild (-15-18 C) by Ottawa's standards but my furred hat and warm boots served me well.
