one of the local residences there, i waded through the cold water in the lagoon to get to this guy. i'm guessing i didnt have the shutter speed to get it as sharp and detailed as i would like.

D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/6.3, 1/500s, 0EV, ISO 200, flash fill no beamer at +1.0EV. was shooting static shoots not expecting flight, that's why ISO 200.

thanks for looking and appreciate your comments and critiques.

Really sweet might just give it a little more room Love the sharp face and wing blur This has a great feel !! bg tones complement the bird well I'm undecided on the bg sand but its clear of the bird and might complement !!! Proud of you !!!

    Doctor Davis,
I actually like it...I like the wing blur...it looks like she is waving her skirt in a dance...:D I like the soft earth tones in the background, which compliments the bird...you have a good feel to this one...congrats...

Way to go, Harold! The wing blur is so well done you'd think you did it on purpose. Hey, when the head and feet are so crystal clear I love a good wing blur!

Beautiful lighting. Nice exposure and good details in the bird and water. Two thumbs up!

I like the composition, the wing blur with the well focused head, etc. but it sure looks like a Little Blue Heron to me (not that that takes anything away from a well done image) ~Bill

lol - know the feeling Harold... had one myself. Posted and couldn't find the image and am certainly not at home... THERE!!!
I really like the image, soft light and the way the bird stands out from the bg. Also the wing blur with sharp head. A VWD from the peanut gallery.;)

I like this type of image. The blur of the wings conveying motion while the head/body is in focus. Great head angle. Great light. I not sure about the sand in the background either but, am leaning towards removing.

    Well done!
