I recently took this shot of a mallard. The bird is dead center, and I'd like to crop it to make it a more interesting photo ... but I'm not really sure of the best way to crop. Normally the bird is looking one way or the other, so I make sure to give some extra room on that side, but this one is looking right at me. Any recommendations are appreciated.
I am not sure if there is a right or wrong way to crop this image. In the western world we tend to look at images from left to right so I would be inclined to crop a little from the left. I would also crop a little off the bottom, roughly at the junction of the rippled and smooth water about 2cm below the bird.
