Clipped the feathers at the top so I had to reconstruct and add canvas at the top.

Can't remember what type of hawk this was, and didn't remove the jessies in this one.

    Comments appreciated.

Really nice Jackie-can't even tell you reconstructed anything. Is it a Harris' Hawk?

Very nice work Jackie. The exposure and color balance are quite nice. I'm a little distracted by the white spots in the image and would remove them to make an even better image. The background is a little busy, but given the attention drawn by the action I think it is fine.

This is a textbook example of tension in an image. The fixation of the bird on its target, the angle of its wings, and your excellent composition all combine to give the viewer the sense that the bird has just flown into the frame and is changing directions to come back the other way. This picture gives me the sense that I could just click on "play", and the action would continue.

Nice shot, what do you mean reconstruct and add canvas?

HI Jackie - agree with your self critique - sometimes you just have to take what you can get :)
Love the pose and exposure looks good - I would get rid of the triangle shape in the brick wall top right hand side - that is the most distracting part for me.

Jeff- Jackie has added some canvas to the shot and recreated the top wing tip - as orginally shot the top of the upper wing would have been cut off.

    :)

    Hi Jackie:

    Nice photo of IF Hawk.

Looks like it could be a Harris's Hawk.

Must be hugh stones in the fence behind it, as the bird is dwarfed by them.

    Thanks for sharing

Jackie your were concerned about flight :) Doing great !!

Would blur the wall just a bit and darken the UL corner, don't like light corners. Will be fine. The white spots don't bother me either since its something the bird picked up and adds to the action. I like the placement with more room to the right and solid PS work !!! Proud of you !!!

Must be a Harris hawk, I was so wrapped up in taking the pics that I lost track of who's who. Also Ray took over 900 shots, kept 300 and said he will probably edit 25. Some of them static portrait shots. You can see how hard it really is:)

you did fantastic!! not only with the in camera work but in the reconstruction work also!!

that's an interesting stat when you posted what ray took, kept and is going to process. would be interesting to know this stat about the big boys!! how many keepers vs how many actually kept.
