I don't know where you live but I sure like this bird and image of it.

Fantastic colors, head angle and pose. I love the green in the background, it really sets the birds colors off nicely. Personally, I find the vertical tree trunks somewhat distracting.

Wonderful colors. It seems that you forgot to include the flash info... What is the bird sitting on? Is it coming to a feeder?

Most importantly, where do you live? :) :D :)

DOes the ugly black stuff at the base of the bill appear on all birds?

Lovely colors, pose and a BG that compliments. Well done.

I was using a SB 800 and a better beamer, I also use an old film can glued to a closepin and filled with seed. I attach the mini feeder to the area I want the bird to pose in. Buntings are very skidish and like to feed in the bush's when ever possible so its not hard to get them to eat from my mini feeder. Not sure about the black stuff. Thanks Rod

A wonderful image of a nemesis of mine......I just might visit you someday. I think your next step would be to attach an attractive perch to the feeding area and get an entire portfolio of these beauties. I can guarantee that I would. Well done.

I always love your PB's Rod! This one's a little plain as compared to some of your other fantastic ones, but now that you have them coming over to your yard, I have no doubt there'll be some more incredible images of these wonderful birds.

BTW - Every one I've ever photographed has that same stuff on the base of the beak.
