Captured in the Lady Bird Johnson Grove of Redwoods National Park, Calif., this past summer.
I was having fun with the early morning mist and the extreme height of the trees. In this instance, I thought that the feeling of being encircled by redwoods came across fairly well, but I'm curious to see how others react to the composition.
I am a sucker for these images and this one is very well seen David. I would look to open up the shadows to see a bit more detail. Other then that, no nits.

I re-opened the file and played with the fill light a little bit and came up with this image. The differences are subtle, so let me know if you think I should go even farther. I was thinking this might be just about "right."

I love it. Really cool. And I prefer the edited version, so maybe you could continue in that direction.
Also have tried in monochrome, works well for me too!
