I'd like to know how to deal with all the sand, mud, water, etc. before, while and after shooting :)

i've been told and now use a simple paint brush!! will wipe away all loose sand with no problems at all!! everything non electronic gets washed right away with fresh water.

That is how we shoot Right on the sand The lens is supported by an Anderson Ground Pod and has just enough clearance for keeping the body of the sand.

The key to keeping sand away from lens is keeping your hands clean. For going down is best to kneel put the lens down with your hands on the lens elbows on the ground. Never tough the sand with your hands. For getting up you can put weight on the lens with your hands. I do take a brush and clean towels. Its fun !!!
