    Black crowned night heron flying through the backyard. :D There are quite a few of these birds living in the trees in the neighborhood. They like to make runs between the trees and through my backyard.

    Great wing position. My only nit is it looks a tad soft.

    Awesome capture Mike - not a easy species to see, let alone photograph in flight. Despite the depth of field at f8 I thing you still had more focus on the front wing and as a result of both movement and slight lack of focus the head might seem a little soft. Perhaps try a more aggressive selective sharpening on the head only! Still I wish that I had one like this in my collection!
