    Default Burrowing Owl

    Hi There

Well the light levels continue to get lower in the UK as the Winter Solstice approaches, and I had to push the ISO level to 6400 to capture this shot.

Its of Burrowing owl "Dick Turpin" being given a helping hand from Falconer Jimmy at the Hawk Conservancy Trust here in the UK. It does illustrate very well just how small these owls are.

Oh sweet........I didn't know that you had Burrowing Owls over there. Framing and composition are excellent. Wow.....this one sure gives you the feeling of size. Good use of the higher ISO, too. I love this one.

Very interesting John... Image shows just how small these owls are. I was fooling around with this where I showed just the hand and part of the wrist.

    Nice image!

    Hi There

Is this the sort of thing you mean? It is a bit of a large crop, so the detail suffers, and as I was pushing it at 6400 ISO I thought the wider shot might look a little better

I like the repost but for really showing the difference in size.....the original does a much better job.

    Hi John,
Well done. Never knew how small these little guys were...I like both compositions...
