Taken the other day at Green Cay Wetlands in the early morning of a hunting Greeny and a good catch as well. Look closely and you'll see the tadpole still in the grass below his beak.
    Shot with a Canon MK-II ISO=400 at f/6.3 at 1/1000 of a sec. 0-EV
and a 100-400-L at 400-MM. all comments and visits welcome.

Nice catch, Bill, great wing position, and about the only angle you can get at Green Cay, from the boardwalk, even if you get on the ground and your camera between the railing. I wish there was a bit less contrast in the duckweed, it takes away from the subject.
You may want to increase the mid-tones in the heron, he looks a little light?

    I see his prize :)

I like the punker coif. Also like the water trailing off the leg. Nice colors on the wing. Wish for a bit more room in front. Looks like the left edge may have been retouched? Hasn't this species lost the "Back" from it's name??

Cool pose and great details. I agree on more room on the left but it looks as if you already added some canvas.

All excellent comments above. As Fabs mentioned, the greens look a bit light and funky (as if they have been lightened too much possibly in SH-H). And good eyes by Daniel. It looks as if 1/8 the size of the frame has been added left... Come clean Bill

yes the left was worked but seems not enough, will try again and thank you all for your time and your comments they are all graciously accepted. I think the people on BPN are the best at what they do and have never been able to see someone do something to an image where they didn't pick up on it, kudo's to all and to there perception.

I actually like your original post Bill. The light shows up better. Lovely wingspread captured in this.
