    Default Gold on White...

Image created just after sunrise on clear morning at Wakodahatchee. I especially love that golden morning light when imaging these white beauties! Cropped from the left to move the eye off center.

    Hi David,

Very nice portrait. You managed to keep details in the whites. Looks sharp. I wonder cropping a little from the top would help the image? What do you think?

Funny you should mention that. As I was cropping in my raw coversion tool (Capture One), I took most off the left and a sliver off the bottom, As the tool shows the thirds lines as you are cropping, I chose the crop that would put the eye right at the horizontal and vertical thirds position. But as I looked at it later, I did also feel a little off the top would be better but never changed it. It was also tough to give up any of this BG!!

    Hi David,

I think just a little more crop, not much would help the image. :)

Gold on white or white on gold? :D

Nicely exposed. About the crop, for web use, you can take a bit off the top, not much. For a print, I wouldn't make any changes.

Excellent exposure on the whites, and a super portrait. Well captured David.

I like it in the way you posted. Excelent job on the whites and very good composition. This image is perfect for the cover of a magazine ;-)

Nice image with nice light and a perfect head angle. Great magazine cover but for most presentations there is too much negative space for me.

Would adding more to the left (which I have in this instance) help? As always, thanks for the comments and learnings.

I had to reprocess from raw; so settings may not be exactly the same, but I added back the left side and took a sliver off the top per Maxis and Artie's points. Better?
