Beautiful specimen you have here. Exposure looks good, but I can't help feeling like either a slight contrast boost or a black point adjustment would help give your subject some punch. I'd also like to see a bit more of the perch. Lastly, another round of USM would help to nicely sharpen up the eye and face area.

Was this a setup, or just chance that it perched on here? Either way, very nice :-)

Hi Daniel and thank you so much for your input. Yes, I also believe I can fix this picture a bit, but I worked it on my laptop and I think it is very bright. It will have to wait though, since my PC screen went to see the doctor.
The bird just landed over that perch and luckily I had my camera with me, all I had to do was getting close to him very slowly.

Lovely portrait image Juan. Although the feather detail is fairly prominent, I agree with Daniel that maybe a bit more contrast will make this pop. Lovely BG colours captured in this too. Well done Juan.

Juan, really nice bird you got there! The pose was really good too! I've been planning to visit CR for a long while. Maybe around this time next year or early 2010! good job! Cheers!

I have to agree with Daniel. More contrast would make the blacks..... black!

Ditto what Daniel said and would try to cloe out the flash light spot on the eye. Very nice bird species by the way!

    Hi JC,

Lots of good comments above. In addition to being too light overall, there are lots of overexposed pixels in both the upper sky and the orange soft parts colors... You need to go back, reconvert darker, and re-do the image. It also needed some big time CW rotation. I did a lot on the repost....

    Wow Arthur!
Now it looks really different! as I mentioned before, I am not too sure about my first post of this guy, seen the image in my laptop is not the best I can do so I will wait until I get my screen back, so far I have learned a lot from your repost, thank you so much for your help.
