    Default Loggerhead Shrike

Still working my local birds whenever the opportunity presents itself. Captured this image tonight on my way home from work. Just stopped off in the field near my home and walked for a bit.

    Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L w/1.4x TC, f/5.6, 1/1250, -1/3 EV, off tripod.

Wow, that's a beauty Bob. The vertical composition works perfectly, and you were blessed with a perfect perch for your subject to hold on to :-) The only possible suggestion I can think of is to selectively lighten the iris just a little bit. Two thumbs up from me!

Excellent exposure on the little guy, and stands out nicely against a super OOF BG. Well captured Bob.

Awesome, Bob - love the BG and over the shoulder look. DOF has covered the bird perfectly and you have kept detail in the blacks and whites - well done.

Excellent overall. Great d-o-f due to great magnification (distance to subject) and near-perfect head turn. Your images keep getting stronger.
