    Caught in mid-croak. Grand Canyon South Rim, on my recent trip. I realize the eye contact/ head angle could be better, but I couldn't persuade the bird to co-operate any more than it did.

    D300, Nikon 80-400, ISO 800, 1/2000 f6.3. Pattern metering.

    Agree with your assessment Richard It is an appealing image and well exposed, not easy for these guys Really like the pose !!!

    Very nice behavior. This could almost be a B&W image. A little tight in the frame but well done!

    You had better luck with these birds than I do. Wonderful pose.....even though the angle is a bit steep. Is this much of a crop? I'm thinking maybe a bit too much sharpening. Perhaps back off and enjoy a bit of smoothness in this one. Well done.
