Finally able to get some shots of a Snowy Owl after many years and miles walked on the beach. This one was very co-operative and permitted a close approach. Very strange that it didn't seem to mind people at all.
Would have liked it if the eyes were open but gotta take what is given at the time.

Joe I like your result instead of the fact that the owl has the eyes closed. I do not mind about that because it looks very natural to me that an owl has closed eyes in the daylight. I like the composition and the fact that the bird is facing towards the observer. Great that you included some details of the bird´s habitat in your composition.

I know how it feels Joe. The Snowy is at the top of my list of birds I want to photograph, along with the Great Grey. Congrats on your first close encounter!

Hi Joe. Glad that you got it. An image that I made of this species at Jones Beach West End on film about a zillion years ago will be published in Birder's World soon. For me, I need to see those killer yellow eyes. And the cipped stalks on the left bug me. Sharp with a good EXP.
