    This is another shot of the male Stonechat - hopefully the head is a little sharper than the previous. I think there is lesson here - and I am slow in absorbing it, i.e. keep that shutter speed to a minimum of 1/320 whenever possible for small birds, I tend to remember then promptly forget especially when the light is good.:)

    Canon 20D Canon 500mm f4 L IS plus Canon1.4TC Mk1, Mongoose 3.5 plus Gitzo 3530LS

    ISO 200 +1.3
    1/250sec @ f5.6

    Like this one much better Jonathan! Head is noticeably sharper. Love the perch. I might crop just a little off the right. Good to see you absorbing the info on BPN! And thanks for posting complete techs.

    Superb job on this bird Jonathan. The BG is terrific and the details on the bird and perch superb. I like the overall composition a lot but I think that Doug made a good point suggesting some room at the right. Very well done. Congratulations!
