    Went to the Arcata Marsh in Arcata California before Thanksgiving. Tons of shorebirds at high tide. Cropped to a pano as the sky was distracting.

    Canon 10D
    Canon 100-400 IS @ 355 mm
    ISO 400
    1/500 sec @ F8

    I like the cropping Chris The bird density makes for a fine image Sure wish the flock was moving toward you rather than going away, just as important as for single birds !!!

    I like the clean bottom area free of birds and the pano cropping strengthen the image. If you manage to find a mostly white flock try setting the lens for maximum def and adjust the ISO as high as you need. Will end up with hardly any noise !!!

    Chris I like these shots with tons of birds in, it seems like organized chaos. Maybe flying toward you would have been more effective.

    that is beautiful water!!! agree about the birds moving away but pretty cool nonetheless!!!
