    A great woody nest right on the side of the road at Viera wetlands. The pair was seen last week building a nest inside this cavity. I would imagine in a few weeks or so this will be a perfect photo op.

    40d + 500 4.0L + 1.4x TC
    1/1600
    f/8
    ISO 400 in auto ISO mode
    580ex II (w/o bb) at -1

    shot from window on a blubb.

    cloned out an oof reed.

    Nice shot Michael great clarity and eye contact but i think a little to much tree is showing and could come in on the right side a little more, love the reeds,nicely done.

    It looks like it already is a nice photo op. Sharpness and exposure are perfect. I agree about the need to recrop to put more emphasis on the bird and the nest cavity. Perhaps a vertical crop.

    w/o bb means without a Better Beamer flash extender. You are right about the -1 meaning -1EV flash exposure compensation

    Great capture! I'm yet to see one of them! Hopefully one day! my vote on a vertical crop! Thanks for sharing!
