This image was captured during the 2006 Images for Conservation, Pro Tour of Nature Photography contest in the Hill Country of TX. Reptiles and amphibians was one of the 5 catagories I had to photograph.. Found a breeding pool along the Guadalupe River full of this species and Rio Grande Leopard Frogs. I would like to have shot from a lower angle but the topography prevented it. If I had to do it again I may have went right into the water. Images were made at night. These frogs were tiny, male is about the size of your thumbnail..

    Canon Eos20D, EF180mm macro. 550EX flash, F16, ISO 400, manual exposure.

Great shot and these are little guys! I just recently sold a stock image of one I shot in my swimming pool! I can't imagine how tiny the tadpoles must be.
