There are often Osprey hanging out below some of the big dams on the Missouri River in the fall. Don't think I've had one so inquisitive and cooperative before though.

Canon 20D, 400 5.6L, no flash. Cloned out one small branch in the upper-right corner.

Edit...shot at ISO400, f7.1, 1/1600s. ISO 400 because I was also shooting flight shots as he periodically left this perch and fished, before coming back to the same perch.

Terrific expression, detail and composition. The only thing I wish for is a lower angel, but that's not always up to us.
There's a minuscule end of a branch on the right side, on top the the real branch that could go.

Great head position and nice detail. I think in this instance the angle is not that critical since it is at a minimum...

Lovely eye and plumage detail - the wing coverts are gorgeous. Well done, Terry.

Love the alert pose and excellent eye contact in this image. Beautiful lighting and detail as well as great exposure. As mentioned a lower angle would be ideal but not always possible. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Terry, I am gald to see you posting here :) I like the pose of the osprey a lot and the fantastic rendering of the details in the plumage. Superb eye contact. Keep them coming.
