i'll throw this one out there for you to blast away at! did my best here (i think). tried to make it artful.

    D300, Bigma at 195mm. f/6.3, 1/1000s, 0EV, ISO 640, flash fill w/ better beamer at 0EV

did a gradient from the bottom up and darkened. did another gradient from the top down and did a little color toning. i really didnt mess with the bird any.

thanks for looking, your comments are appreciated!

Harold, Beautiful BG- Not the best HA -but the wing position is great-I like it!

    My good Doctor,
You operated with Capture NX2 using 3 to 4 control poins, blending in the tones and sky hues...well done Sir...I like the sky. It actually enhances the mood. The colors on the bird are good and you captured the sharp details. I like the flight angle and wing position...well done I like it very much...

I think this is very artful. The bg and the colors of the ibis are a wonderful complement. Using a gradient from the bottom up and from the top down really did the trick. This is a keeper.
Might just be me, but the crop seems a bit tight?

This is absolutely fantastic Harold. Those pinks are stunning. I like the head angle. I think it adds character. My only nit is the shadow but it's a tiny one.

    Cheers.

Sorry I had overlooked this Harold ... no idea how :o:o

The pose and timing for the bg could not be better, sweet !!! When you made the exposure the sun peaked out and the whites are on the edge, not much you could to to prevent since it was happening so fast. Would try to do a double conversion and try to bring some detail to those areas. Its a impressive image and well taking the time !! Big Congrats !!!

Love the colors, sharpness and the pose. Would be better without the hot area though. Good job !
