I took a picture of a lincoln's sparrow last spring that I LOVED but he has sitting on a trimmed arborvitae. I had some spare time (gotta love vacations) so I thought I would try and put him on a branch. What do you think?
a. scrap it
b. keep working on it
c. arborvitae might be a better BG
d. get a new hobby :p

Mark..this is one of my favourite things to do with software, only problem I see, IMO is your background and branch seem to be better quality image, than the Lincoln Sparrow you pasted in. Definately don't give up, it is fun, you learn every day and some of the results work out quite well. Paul
I think you have done some very good PS work here and I love the colorful BG of the berries. Maybe just a little more sharpening of the bird. Pick b and c! You could get a good image out of it I'm sure!!
Hi Mark,
I like what you did here in post processing. What you need to do now Mark is to isolate the bird and increase the saturation and contrast just a hair. It would have been nice to get your bird with a better head angle; looking more at you. But, it is what it is...looking forward to your next capture...
All (most) of the killer little bird images are made setting up perches and attracting the birds or during migrations when the birds just drop out of the sky from being exhausted !!! No reason you can't set up your own perch by a bird feeder, you would be setting up the bg same as you did in PS, think about it !!!
As presented the image is not sharp and lacks a good head angle. Don't like the choices and would add E. :) Keep as a reminder of what you want to do !!.... excellent PS work !! Looking forward to more !!!
You guys really know your stuff. I went to the PS help file and learned about saturation and contrast Gus but I couldn'r figure out what you were talking about picking B and C Jackie. Now that it is sharper it looks kind of fake. Is there a way to blur the edge of the bird.
Thanks again for the help.
