    Default 1000th Post!!!!!

From the land of the Spoonies, on my second trip on Capt. James' Hooptie.
The morning was nice and pleasant, and the afternoon had promises of storms. We left most of the gear in land, in case things got a bit complicated with the weather. It was thundering heavily in the distance, but the storm never caught with us, except for providing us with this rainbow as background.

I will note that although the bird is looking out of the frame, it does not bother me in the least, he is the pink escaping from the rainbow, leaving the other colors to fend for themselves.
It is a full frame and I didn't know I had it until I got to the hotel that night.
Still one of my favorites of all times.

I remember this one, and still love it! The composition is very strong here, with the rainbow filling up the empty space on the left and the spoonbill on the right. The exposure, wing detail and headturn aren't bad either. Excellent shot!

    Hi Fabs

A lovely image and I like the way the pink in the rainbow ties in with the colour of the bird. The bird leaving the frame doesn't bother me at all and the shot seems well balanced with the rainbow on the left.

A 1000 posts already thats amazing!!!!! I think you should have a well earned rest and head out with the camera :)

    Cheers

    Rich

Rainbow + Bird = Awesome! Fabs, this is a truly special image and I'll always enjoy giving it another look. Both of your subjects are in perfect positions and it all comes together so nicely. Well done on the photograph and on 1,000 posts...you are amazing!

    Hi Fabs,

This is a stunning image that should be a masterpiece, framed for the wall. I appreciate your comment on the bird looking out of the frame, ackowledging that such a placement that differs from the typical negative comments, can be quite artistic and effective. It was really Artie that made me realize this with his suggested crop of a moose image of mine, placing it on the edge of the frame. It's so nice to work out of the box!

I just found this place today and you already have 1000 posts!! Congrats. Your signature image. Sharp and not contrasty. Very well done. I know you like the bird on that side but to me this would have been a killer shot in portrait mode. Hindsight is 20/20 :). Great job Fabiola.

    Best,

    Jose
