    There were many of these guys out there, but the one time I get the closest angle, this bugger was on this pipe outlet.

    40d + 500 4.0L + 1.4x TC
    1/1600
    f/7.1

    Great you got close enough for a good sharp picture, even if it was on a pipe. I'm still looking for decent kingfisher shot.

    Given that the kingfishers are a huge nemesis of mine, I can appreciate and image with any kind of perch. He looks really nice.....love the detail and the BG. I'm wondering if a crop to make it more horizontal (more room on the right and crop from the bottom) might work. It would certainly deemphasize the drain pipe. Well done.
