Started with a photo of a dead bush. Did a twirl and then converted it to a mosaic. Added a splatter effect and did a curves adjustment at the end. I know its a small image but believe me when I tell you it was the only way I could upload it. It was pixel intensive!

    Hey Jules,
The colors look great as does the swirl. The small size makes it very difficult to get the mosiac feel. Did you try file.......save for the web......and then use the scale to get it under 200KB....usaually around 60 to 70.......gets it in.....yes you lose quite a bit of punch at around 60 quality.......but at least we would get the idea of the mosaic.
I want to see it big!

Here you go, Roman...this is as big as I can upload it and it's only at 50 quality. Yikes!

Wow! Even though It is only slightly larger........the mosaic texture really comes through. Looks like a pinwheel mosaic! The flow and balance of the colors is just great.

Thanks, Roman. I actually have never really used the two filters before...they always came off making my image look fake. For some reason, they just really worked here. The splatter filter over the mosaic really toned down the compartmentalized look that these type of images tend to get. Anyway, it's a beauty in full strength/full resolution but the file is HUMONGOUS!

Julie, I also have a tough time w/ some of the effects when it comes to shrinking- Back to your image...I love the orig. colors and I know it must be so vibrant on your monitor-I like the effect on this-I think you're right -the mosaic tiles don't work w/ many images but you got them working here!

I find that filters loose a lot of detail when you make them smaller. Some artistic filter you cant even tell after re-sizing.
I love hte colors and swirl effect.
How do you save them? Do you use the Save for Web option?

I'm starting to wonder if all the turkey everyone ate has some psychedelic affects. I love it! Great job Julie....

Richard, I don't think it was the turkey so much as the wine and beer that went WITH the turkey.:D

Fabs, I normally don't do a "save for web" as I find in most cases I get a better look with a "save as" and then lower the quality to a 10 or 11. This one, however, was a bear to get to size down even with the "save for web" option.

I find that the more we do to an image as far as manipulations is concerned, the heavier the initial file is. This one probably has a lot of detail that makes it heavier.
