Hi, here is another image from an early morning (just before sunrise) at Ft DeSoto Park Florida. This Tricolored Heron was standing and occasionally foraging in a very still part of the lagoon at the north beach. I used a bit of flash fill (ETTL at -1.0EV) on a Canon 430EX flash with a Better Beamer, a Canon 50D at ISO 400, 1/250 sec, f/5.6, Sigma 300 f/2.8 lens with Sigma 2x extender, Gitzo 3530 and Mongoose 2.3 head. This is a full frame image.

Comments and critique welcome and appreciated.

    Cheers!
    Bruce

Very nice Bruce Solid exposure, pleasing and not over flashed with a good pose and head angle.

I like the crop very much. btw downloaded the image and made the bg white (very slight cast) Does enhance the image and had little effect on the bird's color !! I like this a lot !!!

Very nice high key image and eye contact. I would have preferred a vertical crop with the entire reflection and would sharpen the bird a bit more.
