I tracked this tiger on the basis of a faint sound of bones cracking. After half an hours wait, I was rewarded with about six hours of sighting. I wanted to show the environment when it was resting. Would love to have your comments.

Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 300mm f4 L IS USM + EF 1.4xII TC, ISO 160, 1/125, f5.6. I wanted to include the tree and the leaves. Would love to have your comments.

I love the environment (crop) but wish the cat was looking more your way, the reflection is a highlight. I wish I was there.

NIce one Sabyasachi. It does have a tranquil feeling and I like the light. The trees and leaves look nice and provide an overhanging frame look. Wish I could see some of his face. One minor thing bugging me is the dark stick at center top. It makes me think of a fence post which takes away from the "wildness" of the photo.

    Sabyasachi,

I am not bothered with how the tiger is facing and do agree that the reflection is good. I am wondering if the low tree branches were low enough to frame the image more. I like the inclusion of the tree on the left but that small section of leaves intruding into the image on the upper right is distracting. If going wider would have produced a frame at the top, that would have been nice.

I suggest you crop off the top to just below the leaves on the right. That also gets rid of Steve's branch.

Looks like the tracking paid off. Nice shot. I like the reflection and the inclusion of the enviroment.

Sabyasachi, I love your tiger images. I took one look at this one and thought "pano" for some reason. Just thought I'd throw it out there for you to see...

I like Julies crop...It brings you right into the image. A few things I would have liked to have seen here. First the tiger facing in the opposite direction with more of the face showing and better lighting opposed to the overcast flat lighting presented here. I realize very often we have to work with whats given to us and do the best we can with it!
