    A vertical shot, no flash used for obvious reasons.
    Full frame, perceived softness of feathers may be down to them being extremely fluffy!

    I like this one better, but it still needs more room at left. I agree about the fluffy feathers and softness...but it still needs a bit more sharpening for the bill and eyes (and feathers around them). What a quirky little fellow this is, a moment I'm sure you won't soon forget!!

    I agree that youngins' have those fluffy feathers and they are naturally soft. Personally I don't mind a tight shot for a portrait. I like those beady eyes, nice shot Ken.
