    Default American Wigeon

Still doing some Mark III focus tests. This time a wigeon. I'm pleased with the Servo AF, but I've yet to photograph BIF. I'll be going to Bosque del Apache in the next few days to put the Mark III through its paces and will post impressions and pics.

    Canon 1D Mark III, 500mm, f/7.1, 1/1600, ISO 400, -1/3, no flash, handheld

Doug, is there supposed to be a photo here? I don't see one. I just signed up today, so I may have overlooked something.

Only thumbnail is showing, Doug. Are you linking or using our hosting?

I'm linking, just like I always have. I see the image on my screen. Not sure what the problem is.

Just tried to access Smugmug; they are having technical difficulties at present. Hopefully, the link will become active shortly.

    Yup, showing and shinning :)

    Focus looks solid to me.

Good composition, exposure and background. The water drop the icing ;)

Glad I could finally see it. Outstanding work, Doug. The crop looks just fine to me, and the water drop really adds impact.

I ran into the SmugMug problem a couple other places tonight. Hope they have it fixed soon.

I agree with your tight crop for this excellent portrait. Can' t tell on this monitor if the whites are blown on the head.

I think the crop might be a little too tight from the bottom edge. Just my $0.02.

Razor sharp detail, and I like the close composition. The water drop is the icing on the cake. The whites are right just a tiny tad over. Lovely image.
