Like the simplicity of the shot Fabs with few elements and the colour of the sky.

    Nicely done Miss Fabs,
I like the red/orange hues in the sky, and the peaceful mood it conveys...

It's beautiful and I have to ask because I almost always get this wrong...

How do you decide on an exposure with an image like this? Do you meter off the white part of the sun or meter off the sky or ??? I either get a blown out sun or I get the sun right but everything else is deeply in shadow and I have to bring it up on pp. You seem to have gotten it right here. SHARE!!!

Thanks Jules and the rest of the gang :)

I knew I wanted silhouette birds against deep colored sky so I went -2/3 and it worked like a charm. If the bird went by close and I used the flash, you'd get the bird fully lit against the dark BG.
I'll post some of those too.

    Happy Turkey to all!

Hi Jules One thing I can add regarding the exposure. The camera does a good Job of compensating for the light and reducing the exposure. Just standing there it would seem you need a couple of stops but not the case !!!

    Beautiful image Fabs!!!!
