    Another image made over the weekend at the North Shore (NJ) lakes. As I said with one of the previous images from the weekend, I was down on the ground but, on the bank, I was still a couple feet above water level. So the angle was as low as I could get and yes, it would have been nice to be able to get even lower but it just wasn't possible.

    Canon 50D; Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS w/ 2x TC; tripod-mounted.

    1/320 sec @ f/11; ISO 400; -1/3 EV; Sunny WB; FL 600mm (Effective FL 960mm)

    Gorgeous looking Coot. I wish for lower angle but the composition and details are terrific!

    Love it Ed !! Can also add to have a little more room Seems a little tight !!

    Great looking water and fine exposure Those guys are very difficult to expose !!! Big Congrats !!

    Glad to hear that you like the image. The Coot isn't necessarily an exciting bird but I was happy with the way the image turned out. And I do love that red eye.
