Techs: This composition is an image overlay of two frames captured in RAW and then converted to JEPG. Format; shot at four frames per second using a polarizing filter, at 50 percent capacity. The drops were created in an old fish aquarium filled half way with a suspension media of water, corn syrup, glycerin, and food coloring. Three 00 buckshot were released from the top at a distance of three feet, to create the volcano eruption effect.
The image was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D macro lens with a 20mm extension tube.

Focal length @ 60mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / 1/1250sec. - f/18 / ISO @ 320white balance @ cloudy / AF - mode @ auto - high speed continuous / metering mode @ in camera matrix metering / lighting solution - no speedlight - used combination of 36" soft box placed from the top at 180 degree angle; two 300 watt strobes powered down to 3/4 lumen burst with diffuser panels placed in front at 45 degree angles, in conjunction with two 22" silver disk reflectors angled from both sides. / Exposure comp @ -2.7EV / tone comp @ +3 degrees / hue adjustment @ +3 degrees / saturation factor @ +5 degrees / support platform - tripod assist; with macro focusing rail; and cable trigger release /

These are done looking through the glass...:):cool: I'm glad you like it. Set up time is about two hours; and by the time the final take is complete, it runs about four hours to get it right...:cool:
BTW Gus, just wanted to mention what an incredible amount of set-up to capture this shot after reading your next post in this thread. It is so beautiful. I think we will call you the MM (macro-maestro).:cool:
