    Default Black Oystercatcher

I found a small flock of Black Oystercatchers searching for breakfast, and this one paused during it`s search just long enough for me to capture this image.

Nice low angle and I like the head on Comp and the Clam, I would like to see a little more detail in the breast.

Hi Edward--nice first post! Good angle, nice pose with dinner. Wishing for some better light for you to show off the colors a bit more. Thanks for posting!

Good low angle, agree with wishing for better light. Some fill flash would have helped I'm sure in opening up some of the shadow areas. A little noise reduction on the background would further enhance this image. All in all a nice first post.

Welcome, Edward. Good first post. I really like that shell with the colourful interior showing. You could probably open up the blacks with a little Shadow/Highlight or curves. Bird looks a little tight in the frame and could manage a bit of NR especially on the BG. Looking forward to more of your photos.

Here is a repost with several changes made.

Added a bit more highlights, also, another run through Neat Image to reduce the BG noise.

I would agree with the earlier comments, Edward. The repost is major improvement and has produced a striking image. Keep them coming.

Repost is a great improvement. Just watch out for that sharpening halo over the top of the head.
