From my resent workshop at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma.
I like backlite fall foliage and was particularly fond of the shape of this tree. I made exposures for an HDR but was not happy with the results and will revisit it later for that. But I asked myself why was I attracted to this composition and lighting - the high-key high-contrast look of it.
So I chose one exposure to work with and amp'ed up contrast, saturation, etc. in PS. I also removed a large branch in the lower left half of the image that just did not work. I liked it but still wanted something different. So I went to the filter gallery and used a brush strokes setting.

Great feel to the image Wonder if you could darken the one light branch to the right? With my high key I started putting a very thin black line
around and seems to go well with them !!! Big Congrats
Robert, I love high-key images and I think yours is very good.Agree w/ Alfred that the thin border may emphasis your creation a little more. I also like how you added the brush strokes. I think it gives it a nice touch-makes it feel more like a piece of art!
Well look who came to visit! Wow, Robert - this is lovely! I agree with Al - a bit of black on that one branch would take this over the top. Way to think OOTB!
