Nice exposure work in the NDR to bring in the FG, and wonderful reflections in the water. I like the lines and curves of the grasses in FG and the hills and gap.

I'm not as keen on the large amount of empty sky. I think it shrinks the hills and reduces their strength in the image. I'd consider cropping a bit above the highest wisp of visible cloud (which will also leave a little room above the tree at L edge of frame). Also, in this JPG, I think the yellows and oranges are too intense, a bit unnaturally so for me. That could be the JPG conversion to the 200kb limit, though, losing gradation, or it may have been a tone map choice.

    Overall, lovely work!

    Michael,

I looked at this one this morning but just getting back now. I would agree with Bruce's comments.

The foreground is really gorgeous. Bruce's comments hit the spot for me too. The orange foliage looks blown, although from this distance in a small jpg it may be difficult to get detail to come through.

I think the JPG conversion pushed this over the edge. The water and FG looks gorgeous.

    Michael,

We added HDR's to the pano forum to drive more visitors there. I will moved this there in a day or two.

    Hi Michael,
I like the pano crop.......as that would have also been my suggestion. The sat may have been a bit high on the original.....but for me on the re-post.......it isn't enough.......so somewhere in between. The FG rocks balance the image well for me.
