    Default Motif Water: Florida Icicles

I noticed the way the light was catching the water off the fountain on our back lanai. I hung my black velvet backdrop on the screen behind the fountain, and that really brought out the light striking the water as it "jumps" out of a series of round indentations in the concrete.... Some of the shots look like ice - some of them look like lightening. This seems to have a little of both!

    Nikon D80
    70-200mm VR @ 175mm
    1/15 sec @ f/22
    Manual focus
    Manual exposure
Handheld (braced on a pillow because the tripod was too high)

This was fun - I'll play with it some more when the sun's a little lower.....

    :)

    Excellent, Amy,
I like the effect of the water coming down. It looks like fire coming down from the sky. Very nice...I like it...

Amy, very creative-good thinking w/ the backdrop- If you were to crop only the water you would have another abstract- that could be completely diff. Neat!

Looks like water fireworks to me! So I'm thinking how does she get these amazing black BG's. I thought you had some exposure technique down that I didn't know about:) Beautiful!
