    The Rooks are collecting acorns for the winter, sometimes they have got about 5 of them in the beak and throat.

    Great portrait, details, exposure control and BG. The acorn adds to it. The bill looks pretty muddy or is this something else. I would give it a bit more room at the top, but not much.

    yes there is some mud on the bill and it could indeed use a little more room at the top.

    A very nice portrait and it is interesting to see a rook holding an acorn. Good exposure control with lots of detail in the blacks, and a nice clean bg. I do wish the bird had a cleaner bill. Well done!

    Hi Lesley, great image! I love the details and the clean background. The color of the acorn really finishes the image. When you take the time to study rooks, you'll start noticing all those details and different shades of black in their feathers. Your image gives a very good idea of that. Great work!
