    Default Long Tailed-Shrike

    Hi Guys,

I’m from the Philippines and this is my first post here. I’m just new to bird photography, been doing it for just over a year. Glad to have encountered this forum. I will definitely learn a lot here.:D

Taken with 30D + 300 f4 L IS + 2x Kenko TC, f/8, 1/1000 sec, ISO 500, hand held, manual exposure in available light, RAW:

    I'm pretty new, too.

I really like this. Sharp subject, great color with the green and red, and I don't mind the centered composition, with the interesting plant.

I bet a lot of folks might say to clone out the blurred shape at the bottom left.

    Happy shooting!

Hi Neon, and welcome to BPN!

Great job capturing such a good pose, and the dragonfly is a huge bonus! The flower stalk color is very pretty against the green bg. If you clone, I would get rid of the oof green vegetation in the left corner. There is a halo visible around some of the flower stalks and the birds tail. A lovely post, and I'll look forward to seeing more of your images.

Way cool with the dragonfly. I do not mind the oof green in the LLC but the greens are way oversaturated...

Also, the bird's head is turned slightly away from you.

    later and love,

why not cloning out this huge red flower behind the bird, this would improve this picture a lot !

Welcome to BPN. This is a great first post. In addition to the tips above Id crop it a bit tighter by taking some off the left and top.

    Thanks for the suggestions Guys!!

Here is a try at applying what were suggested above. I tried to do it with the RAW file but could not locate it in my archive. I’m still learning Photoshop and this is my best effort so far.

    Cheers,
