I took this photo in Alberta on recent trip west..would you clean up the background or leave it?
I am refering to the black object on ground and the post. This photo is uncropped as is, unsharpened. I have been toying with it but can not seem to decide on what to do. Thanks

Great shot, great background . . . I would definitely clear out objects in lower BG, and make it all blend in with the top . . .

Great pose and I'd clean the background. Gus has done a great job of doing just that. Now that the background is cleaned I'd think about adding a little bit of canvas in fron of the bird.

    Cheers.

Edit: Gus's second version (which is fab!) obviously doesn't require additional canvas.

    Very nice capture Paul,
I like the wing position and flight angle. You show sharp details and good color rendition. Uncle Gus' repost takes it over the charts...

Great work by Gus and a beautiful shot, Did you see the cool post about adding canvas with the content aware scale in CS4 in the general photography section yesterday. Might not work here because the wings are close to the edge. But it beats cloning. Just in case you wanted to try that:)

Content Aware to add canvas. Make sure you add duplicate layer first as instructed by Keith.

Added to front only as suggested by SeanK.
