    Default Final Transition...

This muddy forager is in the late transition from the juvenile brown to adult white plumage. Created at Wakodahatchee wetlands early this morning. The BG is totally smooth in the tiff file (even when downsized). I always wondered why some BGs tend to show JPG artifacts when converted?

Hi David. Lovely portrait. If you save your jpg at a high quality setting - as close to the 200KB size limit as possible if will reduce the visible jpg artifacting.

I like the soft light and details. That is one muddy bill. :) I agree with Tony that less compression will improve the quality of the jpg.

As always, thanks for the learnings!!!! Yes, he had just raised his head from a shallow muddy pool.

Love the blue eye and the green BG! Agree about compression artifacting.
