    Default Dunlin portrait

Another one of the late migrant Dunlin. A bit similar to the portrait I posted a couple of weeks ago but here the head is angled a bit more towards us (instead of perfectly parallel). More pleasing IMO. The soft bill-tips is caused by the bill being open or shut quickly as it had just swallowed a morsel. I'm fine with that.

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, eval metering, 1/1250s., f/7.1, ISO 400, no EC, natural light, handheld, almost full-frame.

This is top-notch Daniel! The sharpness is stunning and I don't mind the slightly OOF bill-tip. The BG and bird colours are very nice.

    Daniel,
Beautifully exposed. Great angle and clean bg--and super job of getting this close!

This is gorgeous Daniel! Such an extreme closeup with the beautiful blue water for the background. I love the head angle and the slightly open bill. Great work!
