We have more than space ships and rockets at Kennedy Space Center. This eagle was perched just next to its nest which is just some 50 yards off of a major north-south highway going through the Space Center. I took the photo this morning. The sun angle wasn't correct but I took the photo anyway. I went back when the sun angel was proper, but alas, the eagle wasn't there.

They never cooperate Jim !!!! :)

You did real well with the exposure concentrating on the bird, nothing much you can do about the bg !!! Might have framed the image different with the extra room to the right of the bird, direction he is looking !!! Probably made the best possible image from your location !!! ..... might be able to find the eagle again, they tend to favor perches !!!

There is a big limb to the right of the eagle that I thought would be distracting so I cropped it out. The nest is also to the right so I am sure it will be back.

Gorgeous bird - cant wait to see more.
    :)

Looks a little soft to me - selectivley sharpened the bird - sharpened the eye and lightened a tad. Selctivie colours - bumped the blacks a tad.

Jim - what sort of camera are you using - I thought this image was soft - looking at a really large crop reveals some strange things. I know its only a small jpg - don't see this on others though.

    Just out of curiosity??

I used a Canon EOS 40D with a 500mm f/4 lens. The sun was coming from about a 45 degree angle from the right. I like the sharpened image. I am learning how to do those things on Photoshop. I use Photoshop Elements 6 but am strongly considering upgrading to CS4. Thanks for your comments.
