    Default Mallard Drake portrait

Fabiola's mallard drake inspired me to work on this one. Within the last couple of weeks, there have been a lot of mallards on the Central Park lake, some are residents, others are passing through. This guy was perched on a rock close to the lakeshore so I think he was not one of the transients (they're pretty skittish and swim away when approached). I appreciate any comments!

You've captured the iridescence well here, Beth. I really like the BG and head turned slightly toward you. I think it may look a little nicer with the head a tiny bit higher in the frame ( eye on a junction of 1/3s) and a little more of the breast visible.

Nice colours and details. I also love the colour of the BG water. There a couple of pale circles in front of the bill that could be fixed.
