I was standing by the side of the road when this Dark-Morphed Rough-Legged Hawk fly into a tree nearby me. I just received my 300 2.8 from NIkon, I was amazed at the diffence in lens quality. In my hurry to use the lens...lolol...I forgot to change the ISO so image noisy but tried to reduce it with CS4.
Had a chance to fire off 2 photos before he flew off, removed limbs and other debris from photo, cropped 40% and still have a passable photo. Hope you like it.

Lovely light and the over the shoulder look works well. Good result for ISO 2500. Maybe a little more room on the left.

What a great looking individual. Noisy as you say, but ISO 2500 will do that ;-) A bit hot on the tail feathers, but excellent else where.

    P.S. e-mail received...thanks!
