Side lighting was the best I could do with this snowy owl on the beach at dawn as I was already against the edge of the water and it was a balmy 27 degrees outside.

    Nikon D300, 500 AFS VR, TC14EII, ISO 1000, F 7.1, 1/ 500, NearUniWB Preset, CW metering, +.7 EV compensation.

Very cool setting and details, I also like the soft light. Is this bird still at Sandy Point?

Fantastic, Jim. Love the environment as well as the bird.

Nice! The perch is pretty cool, good hint of habitat, and the debris in LRC is a good anchor to the composition.

Yes, quite nice Jim, and great you could get that close. The contrasting colours and BG are super, the snowy jumps right out of the shot. Great shot.

Excellent exposure on the whites, and those eyes are simple magic. Well captured Jim.

The soft side lighting is good here. The perch really adds much to this already fine image.

Very well done. I love that perch, and the setting is first rate. Certainly gives it a different feel than those we see around here.

An excellent all-around image. Colors, light, perch, BG, and subject.

Very nice image, Jim! We are getting a nice push on Snowy's in Minnesota so far this winter ourselves.

Just a beautiful photo Jim. Everything is right on-perch, placement of bird, BG, exposure, and those eyes.
