Photographed this past November in Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA.

I know...some won't like the little highlights in the bubbles, but I like them :)

    Nikon D2Xs, 500 AFSII and TC14EII, ISO 400, f7.1.

The bubbles are what they are. The exposure on this is good, and the bird is big enough in the frame to hold my attention.

The pose is very nice, the bubbles are a little distracting but keeping a close eye to the water is as critical as keeping an eye to your subject.

    Default Hi Maxis

I guess I need some clarification?

Are you stating that I should have been watching the water and waiting for a time when no surf was rolling in?

If I'm understanding you correctly (and I could be dead wrong), I'd have to disagree. I think the little surf edge added quite a bit to what would otherwise have been a very flat and typical background.

Nice sanderling, Jim ! Love the raised foot, and the surf. Challenging little birds, as they as so quick, but you did great.

Very nice Jim! Wonderful pose and good exposure. For the record, I think the bubbles on the surf line add a lot of texture and interest. Perfect as posted.

Very nicely composed and great exposure. The raised foot is a plus.

Not going into the other item :D

I don't find the bubbles distracting and as always, Jim, you've produced a great image of a lovely shore bird. I'm looking forward to your future posts with the D300!!!!
