I took this picture one week ago as an experiment in photographing white egrets up close. I sharpened the image a bit in Lightroom. Otherwise, it is as it came out of the camera. I'm pretty pleased with it, and I'm interested in any processing suggestions that might make it better.

    Thanks,
    Wendell

Wendell, I see a few lens spots- but other than that I love the BG gradient and the pale grey blue-The HA is good and the detail is good-I would say nice job!!!

Hi Denise; Since I took this picture I had a similar observation from someone else about a later post of mine. After that I cleaned the lens -- they were right, it was very dirty. But I'd appreciate your pointing out to me where the spots are you're referring to in this image. I simply cannot see them on my monitor and am wondering if my monitor is "to blame". You would help me if you would point to the spots.

    Thanks . . .

Very nice detail, but to me the light is what really makes it.

Where was this taken at? Bolsa Chica?

I see one spot about 1/4 the way up from the bottom on the right side.

Bill -- Yes, it was taken at Bolsa Chica a week ago around 8:30 AM. The Snowy was perched on the railing of the bridge, about half-way across. If you know the place you probably have seen egrets nearby also.
Denise -- Thanks for looking so closely.
    Others -- Believe I'm improving . . . with your helpful critiques . . .

I like the fine detail in the feathers, the bright eye and the gradient. Very nice, Wendell.

Hi Wendell - nice - I would get rid of the dark strip along the top - probably via some QM'S personally think it would improve the image - others may disagree :)
