I took this Sanderling a few weeks ago on a cloudy and foggy day at the Dutch coast.
I photographed a group of Sanderling, which were looking for food in the sand.
Every time when one of them found something in the sand, he ran quickly away with it to have is meal for himself.
I tried to catch this behaviour on picture, but it was really difficult with the light, so I tried something different here with over-exposure and long exposure.

I know that this image might not be everyone's taste, but i would apreciate it if you would post your thoughts.

I like it, the feel is very nice, the bird seems to be running a bit away from you, but I like the creative aproach! Congratulations!

I have to be honest here and respectfully say that this does not work for me. Subject is too small in the frame, walking away no less, and the blur looks more like a missed opportunity and not at all like a panned image. Keep trying and you'll soon get that artistic-looking pan-blur! :-)

The soft light, angle and wide crop work for me and I wish the bird would have walked toward you.

Sorry Sebastian, while I like creative photography a lot and I love the monochrome atmosphere in this photograph I don't think this particular motion blur works for me.

I really like the soft light and the angle!
